The hen do that actually leaves everyone feeling amazing
Here’s the thing about most hen dos. You love the person, you love the group, you want it to be brilliant. And then you spend four hours in a bar shouting over music, or sit through an activity that half the group secretly didn’t want to do, and by the end of the night everyone’s tired, drunk and holding their heels.
What if the hen do was the bit that made everyone feel incredible instead?
Why a sauna and cold plunge works for a hen do
It sounds unexpected, and that’s part of why it works. Nobody’s expecting it. Nobody’s done it before. And it turns out that getting into freezing cold water together is one of the fastest ways to bond a group of people who might not all know each other yet.
Think about it. A hen do is a room full of people from different parts of someone’s life, the uni lot, the work lot, the childhood friends, the cousins. Half of them have never met. The thing they have in common is the bride, and beyond that they’re starting from scratch.
Cold water fixes that surprisingly fast. There’s something about the shared shock, the laughing, the “I can’t believe I just did that” moment that skips past small talk entirely. You go from strangers to a group in about ninety seconds. Add the sauna, the resting between rounds, the chatting in the social space afterwards, and you’ve got real connection rather than polite conversation.
What the experience actually looks like
You book the space for your group. Up to six people per session, which means the whole place feels private and calm, not like a busy gym or a packed spa. Two saunas, a traditional Finnish one running properly hot and an infrared for anyone who wants something gentler, and six 3D printed cold plunges in pairs at 3°C, 6°C and 12°C.
Nobody has to go in at 3°C. The 12°C is there for exactly this kind of moment, cold enough to feel like you’ve done something brave, warm enough that first timers aren’t put off. Most groups start there and work their way down, egging each other on, and that’s half the fun.
Between rounds you rest in the social space, drink something from the café lounge, and actually talk. Not over music, not while queueing at a bar. Properly. That’s the part people don’t expect to be the highlight, but it usually is.
It’s a fraction of a spa day
A spa hen do in London costs serious money once you’ve added treatments, lunch and a day rate for everyone. This is the premium end of things, 3D printed plunges with continuously filtered water, two saunas, a maximum of six people and a space that’s designed to feel considered rather than clinical, at a fraction of what a spa day would run you.
Same calm, same sense of occasion, none of the bill. And everyone leaves feeling genuinely better rather than just relaxed.
It fits around everything else
A session is 30 minutes, so it slots into a bigger day rather than replacing one. Do brunch first, come to us, then head out for drinks. Or start with us and let the buzz carry the rest of the afternoon. Shoreditch is right there, two minutes from Old Street, so you’re not stuck somewhere inconvenient afterwards. Restaurants, bars, rooftops, whatever the plan is for the evening, it’s all walking distance.
It also works as the whole activity if you want something low key. Book a session, stay for a drink in the lounge, and let the group just be together without a schedule. Some of the best hen dos we’ve had have been the ones where nobody was in a rush.
First timers are MORE THAN welcome
Most hen do groups include at least a few people who’ve never done a cold plunge before. That’s completely fine. We’ll walk everyone through it, the staff are on hand throughout, and nobody has to do anything they’re not comfortable with. The 12°C plunge exists for exactly this reason.
